Report 16th Meeting Advanced English Engineering

This is the 16th meeting of advanced English engineering.This is the longest meeting because the last meeting. Learning starts around 12.00 – 02.00 pm. At this class Endah and Feby sit in second bench They look concern Mr.Aji explanation, Mr. Aji asks to continue the presentation from a week ago. There are 8th groups who perform in front of the class.First group are Afina and Rofiatus, second group are Endah and Feby , 3th group are Ninik and Rozin, 4th group are Ikfar and Laksamana,. 5th group are Puguh and Robby ,6th group are Rizka and Faqih, 7th group are Khoirul and Esty, 8th group are Agus and Fuqaha. Mr. Aji chooses the different moderator and secretary are every group..

Today endah and feby perform a presentation, Wildan as moderatorar, open the presentation and first presentation by endah about title “DISCUSS BEHAVIOUR USING SOCIAL MEDIA FOR STUDENTS OF INFORMATICS ENGINEERING EDUCATION STATE UNIVERSITY OF MALANG”

Endah said “Main menu have 4 chapter, chapter 1 introduction, chapter 2 metodology,chapter 3 result and discussion, chapter 4 conclusion and recommendation”

Endah said “There are 3 point in chapter 1 introduction, background information are — Social media has many benefits to everyone — Education and social media have a relationship — Social media can be used to online discussing, share subject matter, and simplify to communicate between students and teacher or lecturer

And then problem :

How is discuss Behaviour using social media for students of informatics engineering education, state university of malang ?

And the last in chapter 1 is objective :

This research is used to explore Discuss Behaviour Using Social Media For Students Of Informatics Engineering Education, State University Of Malang”

Endah said “And then chapter two, there are seeting and respondents, instrument, data collection, and data analysis, ok about setting and respondents :

The research has done at Electrical Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, State University Of Malang, and bout respondents are 50 students of informatics engineering education , instrument in this research is using questionnaire , The researchers collect data from answering some written questions (and klik open questionnaire from this slide), an then data collection there are editing (The researchers correct the questionnaires, If data are incomplete then the research repair and repeat to collect data), coding (The researchers give code 0 and 1 to simplify analysing data) , entry data (The researchers entry data to microsoft excel)and cleaning data(The researchers check the final data) “

And next presenter by feby , feby explain about data analys .

Feby said “Analysis method that we used is descriptive analysis percentage. It is used to examine variables in this research, Descriptive Analysis Percentage is processed by dividing frequency with number of respondent and multiplied by 100%,Explanation :

N : Number of Respondents

100% : Fixed Number

The computation step of descriptive percentage is as follows :

1. Correcting the answer of questionnaire from respondents

2. Computing the answer frequency

3. Computing the number of respondents. It is 50 people

4. Entering data to the formula”

Feby continue this slide presentation about chapter 3 Result and discussion .Feby said “Based on descriptive analysis percentage we know the most answer for each question on questionnaire. There are five points that must be answered by respondents,

Technology capability Based on that table, respondents that can use gadget is about 88% or 44 respondents, this is the most percentage and 84% respondent can use internet or 42 people, this is the lowest percentage.
Social media that is often used Based on that table, respondents often use Facebook is about 88% or 44 respondents, this is the most percentage. 12% respondent often use Twitter or 6 respondents. 24% respondent often use Whatsapp or 12 respondents. 10% respondent often use Line or 5 respondents. 6% respondent often use the other sosial media or 3 respondents, this is the lowest percentage.
Discussion preference Based on that table, respondents often use Facebook is about 88% or 44 respondents, this is the most percentage. 12% respondent often use Twitter or 6 respondents. 24% respondent often use Whatsapp or 12 respondents. 10% respondent often use Line or 5 respondents. 6% respondent often use the other sosial media or 3 respondents, this is the lowest percentage

And the last session , moderator asks the audience about question ,question 1 from rozin and question 2 from Agus and then close that presentation. Makrifatus as secretary write and read some question, answered question and conclusion to audience.

After the last presentation end, Mr.Aji give some conclusion and suggestion to us about UAS.

Report 15th Meeting Advanced English Engineering

Haiii ..Wednesday… This is the 15th class of advanced English engineering. We meet Mr.Aji again with our spirit for presentation. We are nervous because the group presentation randomly selected by Mr. Aji.This class. I see feby is sit second bench this class, but endah have sore eyes and fever so she is absen this meeting.Mr. Aji ask to continue the presentation from a week ago. Some group of students to present their task about their research.

Feby and endah are selected group by Mr.Aji, but endah is absen so feby no presentation this meeting. Feby's so sad.

There are 5th groups that present the research. First group are Lutfi and Asnah, second group are Tomi and Saiful , 3th group are Eka and Maulita, 4th group are Dhendik and David, 5th group are Wildan and Makrifatus. Mr. Aji chooses the different moderator and secretary are every group.Lutfi and asnah have a title research is internet role for elderly in jombang street.Tomi and saiful have a title reseach is the role power point media in PTI-B student learning,Eka and maulita have a title effectiveness of online exams on students, Dhendik and david have a title reseach is the role and impact search enginee “google” in coursework search of PTIB 2012, and the last presentation from wildan and makrifatus is have a title the role gadget(smartphone) to PTIB 2012 student of university of malang.

Every the group presentation with moderator and secretary from other group in this class. Moderator was chooses by Mr.Aji. Moderator’s role are open the presentation, allows to presenter to present the research , ask the audience about question and close that presentation. Secretary write and read some question, answered question and conclusion to audience. After the last presentation end, Mr.Aji give some conclusion and suggestion to us. This presentation will continue next week.. see you the next week ^_^

Report 14th Meeting Advanced English Engineering

This is the 14th meeting of advanced English engineering. At this class Endah and Feby sit in second bench .They look concern Mr.Aji explanation about activities in this meeting , Mr. Aji ask to continue the presentation from a week ago. Some group of students to present their task about research. There are 5th groups that present the research. First group are Rini and Rosa, second group are Umi and M.Ariful , 3th group are Muschon and Vishal, 4th group are Khoirul and kukuh, 5th group are Danny and bagus...Ariful and umi have a research title is laptop’s role for UM’students, this about laptop’s role because laptop have many benefit to us. Every group have different title of their research. Mr. Aji chooses the different moderator and secretary are every group , moderator’s role are open the presentation, allows to presenter to present the research , ask the audience about question and close that presentation. Secretary write and read some question, answered question and conclusion to audience. After the last presentation end, Mr.Aji give some conclusion and suggestion to us. Report 13th Meeting Advanced English Engineering

This is the 13th meeting of Advanced English Engineering. At this class Mr. Aji ask to his students to present their task about research. But Mr.Aji don’t have enough time and he must goes soon. So only one group that present the research. It is Hanny and Zaki. And Mr. Aji chooses the moderator and secretary are Feby and Endah.

Feby as the moderator open the presentation. She allows zaki as the first presenter to present the research and then Hanny continue it. After they present, Feby ask to the audience give 2 question and the presenter will answer it. After then, feby allows endah as the secretary read the conclusion. Then feby closes the presentation by saying sorry if there are any mistake, and salam

After the first presentation end, Mr. Aji close this class and will continue next week

Report 12th Meeting Advanced English Engineering

This is the 12th meeting of Advanced English Engineering. At this class Mr. Aji ask to his student to come forward and explain about Malam Jumat Kliwon synopsis that has been reviewed by foreigner. There are some of student that come forward. They are Ifa and Wildan , Hanny, Syaiful and Tomi, Rofi and Afina,Asnah and Lutfi, and the last are Feby and Endah.

Feby mentions 3 fault in her synopsis and explains why there is a fault and gives a correct sentences. Then Endah does. After then they ask who will give a question about their explanation. And then David raises his hand. David ask a question and Feby answers it.

At 01.30 pm, this class is ended then Mr. Aji closed this class.

Report 9th Meeting Advanced English Engineering

Hiii, on Wednesday October 15th , 2014. We have an Advanced English Engineering Class again :D.

Firstly, Mr Aji explain about the task for 2 weeks again. It’s about Simple Research Plan. The students must make a different title about ICT for their research. For example the title is “Study of Student Behavior on Using Their Gadget During The Class”

The content of research is :

Title
Objective (to explore or describe the title)
Research Method (Using observation, survey, questionnaire)
Respondent (Who is the object of the research)
The number of respondent
Respondent’s Location (Where is the respondent)
Duration Research (How long the research will do, the maximum time is 2 weeks)

After that, as Mr. Aji said last week that we will continued to present about interview the foreigner but just explain about the differentiation ICT in Indonesia and the country where the foreigner come from. The rule is the group must add the number of group code with 1, if one of group had group code R4 last week, so this week its group code is R5. One of group that have R5 is Feby and Endah, but I see that in this class Endah is absent because she must prepare JB ITC 2014.

Firstly, Mr Aji chooses one of group code. He chooses R5 so Feby who is alone in that group comes forward to play his record with the foreigner. The group that have a record with the foreigner just play the record and give a question to their friends. Mr Aji helps Feby to set the sound and then the record plays. All of students in that class give more attention to hear the record, and so Mr Aji does.

After play the record, Mr. Aji asks to Feby to choose 3 groups and will answer the question from Feby. Then Feby chooses the first group and gives a question “How long he’ll stay in Indonesia ?”. The first group’s answer is 2 years, then Mr Aji asks to Feby “Is it correct ?”, then Feby said that it’s correct. So Feby continued to choose the second group and ask about “What does he thing about Indonesia?” and the 2nd group can answer the question. Then Feby chooses the last group that will answer the question. the question is about the differentiation ICT in Indonesia and the foreigner’s country. The last group said that the differentiation is in America everyone has a computer, and the answer is correct. After then Mr Aji asks Feby to chooses one group that will come forward to present. So Feby chooses the group that have group code ‘L2’, and then there are about 5 groups that come forward.

Report 8th Meeting Advanced English Engineering

Haiii…On Wednesday October 8th, 2014, This is the 8th class of Advanced English Engineering. Mr. Aji gives a task about interview a foreigner a week ago. He tells his experiences about interview a foreigner in other country. He asks us about each group can be couple sit. After then, Some groups were divided to be two group, there are left group and right group. A member of left group or right group must be presented about first experience meet a foreigner and describe about identity and character from a foreigner.

I see two of the students who sit in front who wear the hijab. They’re Endah and Feby. They look concern Mr. Aji’s explanation. In this section, Endah and feby get Right2(R2) group code. Then, this class looks crowded but Mr.Aji decides some group to Left 1 group, left 2 group, left 3 group, etc same as right groups too, because of it, he makes a role of presentation. We can’t be noisy and must be given a question to presenter. Endah and Feby look prepare about presentation with power point media on their bench.

First presenter is left 3 group in front of the class. We look concern story by the left 3 group.I see, Endah and feby are the 2nd presenter because the group before chooses them. They use power point media.

Feby starts with said

“Assalamualaikum” and explain about first slide about experience, she said “On Thursday morning October 2nd 2014, We try to find a foreigner. The first place is in Balai Bahasa, but there is nobody. We continue searching foreigner around Kampung Turis then We find 2 foreigners. The first foreigner says that she don’t have enough time to get some interview. The second foreigners can’t be met because they enter a homestay, so we can’t do anything. We go to Alun-Alun Tugu Malang. We see that there’re about 4 foreigners who are sweeping the road. After then, we park our motorcycle then prepare our synopsis of Malam Jumat Kliwon, recorder, pen and a gift”.

And then, endah said

“After that we walk to the foreigners. Seeing that we confused, a women comes and say hello to us. We don’t know her name, but she says, “Can I help you ?”. then we say that we wanna get some interview with the foreigner. Then the women asks to one of them to get some interview and He seems agree with that.After that, the foreigner comes to us and we start the interview. “

Endah tells the next slide about introduction

“We start introduce our self before and we tell that where we come from state university of malang, And He responses us, He tells about his name is Elder Getter, He from state of Utah America, He is missionary for his church and He stay in Indonesia for 2 years. He looks so friendly, white skin, and handsome.”

And then feby said

“any question?”

The student of this class looks enthusiastic to ask a question. one question from Rofiatus about how long he stay in malang , Indonesia. And we answer its 2 days. And then question from Adipura about he can or can’t be use Indonesia language.And they answer yes, he can, Elder said “saya ada les bahasa inggris di gereja saya,kalian bisa datang tapi saya lupa jalannya” and we are in this class are laugh together. Last question from Mr. Aji about his name “Elder Getter”, they explain his name is following his name tag, it is Elder Getter. And then Mr. Aji explains about gift name in other country, Elder is old brother and getter is gift name. Its unoriginal name.

We are closing this presentation with said

“Thank you for your attention, We’re sorry for our mistakes. Wassalamualaikum” .

And then we choose other group, it is Right 1 group and right 1 group must do the same.Because every group must give a question, so Endah ask to Luthfi and asnah group about “where do they live now?”.This is about a foreigner who interview by them.but they don’t know about it. And Feby ask to Wildan and Ifa about “What about UM in his mind ? “(his = foreigner), and then they answer it.

Finally, This lesson is enough at 01.30 pm. Mr. Aji explains about task for next week is still about interview a foreigner with a recorder.

Report 7th Meeting Advanced English Engineering

Hallo.. On October 1st 2014, This is the 7th class of Advanced English Engineering. We meet Mr.Aji again. In this class, Mr. Aji explains about writing of broadcasting. He says that writing and speak the news must make an intimate conversation with daily language. And then Mr.Aji gives a quote from Marilyn Vos Savant “Have you ever notice that when you must strunggle to hear something ,you close your eyes”. This is a super quote to open this lesson. I see Endah and Feby sit at the 1st banch. They look more attention at that topics slides. Some students are setting up the sound system at Mr.Aji’s table. It uses to hears some ICT news from Mr.Aji at last lesson.

Then Mr. Aji gives more explain about news at TV and Radio. TV gives a picture, it is worth of thousand words and then radio just gives shade, nuance, pause, pitch of the news reader. when we speaks a news, we must :

1. Use plain English

No time for audience to find the meaning of one complex word, use :
Poor instead of impoverished
Truth instead of veracity
Sex Instead of gender
Contraction is better

2. Use Concrete Words

Example : “ A Scottish terrier named bobby today saved……..”

3. Avoid inverted sentences

Usually use a sentence : Because of

4. Use every day expression

5. Reduce the of adjective and adverb

6. Use contraction

Mr. Aji asks us to write an example of breaking news about activities out off class, and this example of breaking news :

On October 1st 2014, in H5 202A, Five students of electrical engineering are presenting about adder in front of the class. It’s because they do the task from their lecturer.

Report 6th Meeting Advanced English Engineering

Hii !!!!! On September 24th 2014, it is a 6th class in Advanced English Engineering, and we meet Mr. Aji again :D. In the 3rd class, Mr. Aji ask to his student to write a synopsis of Malam Jumat Kliwon. Feby and Endah who are in the same group do their task together. Feby write the synopsis start from the beginning until the middle, and Endah write the synopsis start from the middle until the end of the movie. After they finish the story, they merge their story and the synopsis is done.

This is the synopsis that have been made by Feby

Ayu Trisnaningrat is a mystery novelist. She feels that in the middle of writing her novel , She can’t concentrate as usual. So, She consults it with her doctor. The doctor says that she must be calm and relax. After then, Ayu asks Anton, her boy friend to go out of the town and get the inspiration. Anton agrees with that, and they go together. On the journey, they are looking for new road and stopped at a stalemate. They are continuing the journey on foot and find a big house. Ayu says to Anton that She has ever known the house. They enter the house because the door isn’t locked.Ayu is so surprised when She goes into one of the room, there are so many birds. Ayu sees the blood and it disappears soon. She begins to realize that there are strange in that house, but Ayu wants to meet the owner of that house and get some permission. Then they meet a man and ask who is. He says that Raden Ngabey Arya Tejo can permit Ayu to write in that house.Ayu and Anton go to Mr. Raden’s house. They meet Mr. Tomo. He takes care of Mr. Raden. Mr. Raden goes out of his room and he is so surprised when he sees Ayu. Ayu and Anton don’t know why, and then Anton gives a id card to Mr. Tomo. After that, Ayu is permitted to write at that house, then Anton goes home.

At that night, Ayu is dreaming that there are one man and many women that have scary faces come to Ayu and want to catch her, and then Ayu wakes up. Ayu sees a man who is fixing the broken glass. He is Mr. Ardan. Ayu asks why is the glass broken ?and Mr. Ardan answers that may be it is caused by ghost.Ayu is confused with her dream, then She calls the doctor and tells him. The doctor asks Ayu to be calm and don’t worry. After that Ayu hears a sound like a radio. Ayu goes to find and turn it off. In a room, Ayu finds a wedding picture. Ayu back to her room and sees her writing. It’s very dirty. Ayu is wondered who did it.

In the morning, Ayu draws the house. She meets Mr. Ardan and ask him, “Is it a ghost in this home ?”. Then, Mr. Ardan says that Ayu must go out of this home. He wants to kill and rape Ayu. Ayu is surprised and run. Mr. Ardan chases her, but a Sundel Bolong comes to help Ayu and kills Mr.Ardan. At that night, when Ayu sleeps, She sees Mr.Ardan’head on the bed. She is scare and tries to call Anton.

Ayu remembers that Mr.Ardan have ever mentioned the name, it is Karsiman. Ayu meets Karsiman in a chicken coop. She asks Karsiman, why that house is so strange. But suddenly, Karsiman is angry and want to kill Ayu. Ayu go out with her motorcycle but Karsiman tries to chase Ayu. He sees SundelBolong and hits it twice, but then he gets an accident and injured. Seeing karsiman’s accident, Ayu comes back to see him, but Karsiman wakes up and tries to kill Ayu again. Then SundelBolong helps Ayu and kills Karsiman. After that Ayu goes home.

And this is the synopsis that have been made by Endah,

Mr.Tomo visits Ayu to give a news that Anton will come to visit her next week. Finally that night,Mr.Bokir accompanies Ayu .Mr.Bokir and Ayu talk about the life history of Mr.Bokir. Mr.Bokir sings and dances together with Ayu. Mr.Bokir is so surprise when he sees that is not ayu. After then, Sundelbolong comes to Mr.Bokir, so he runs and meet security guard on the street and told the incident then he asked the sequrity guard to accompany him to save Ayu’s home. Sequrity guard ensures that the story from Mr.Bokir about Sundelbolong.When they are dinner, Sundelbolong comes and put their food with maggots.

Looking a woman hangs in the tree, sequrity guard holds her hand and asks her to go to Ayu home. but in the middle of the road, She changes become a skull ghost and she is a Sundel Bolong .Finally sequrity guard goes home and Mr.Bokir meets Ayu to tell about a ghost. Because of fear Mr.Bokir gives up to save Ayu’s home before receive wages. That night ayu imagines about Anton in her bedroom.

In the Morning, Mr.Tomo comes into the house to inform Ayu about Mr.Ardan and Karsiman’s corpse had been found. According Mr.tomo, this is unnatural death because they were killed by Minanti. Ayu also tells him that find a women like her in the house. Anton visits Pak Raden, then Mr.Raden tells that Ayu’s face is same with his wife. She is minanti. He tells about the night when Ayu borns. At that night Minanti gets black magic. So Minanti has a baby of her back and .Minanti died that night. Mr.Raden lefts the baby to an orphanage and intends to take a revenge for the death of Minanti.

After know that story from Sundel Bolong, Ayu knows that her mom is Minanti and her father is Mr.RadenAryoTejo. Ayu comes to her father. And Mr.Raden deaths because old age and illness. Finally, Ayu happy with Anton.Mr.Tomo visits Ayu to give a news that Anton will come to visit her next week. Finally that night,Mr.Bokir accompanies Ayu .Mr.Bokir and Ayu talk about the life history of Mr.Bokir. Mr.Bokir sings and dances together with Ayu. Mr.Bokir is so surprise when he sees that is not ayu. After then, Sundelbolong comes to Mr.Bokir, so he runs and meet security guard on the street and told the incident then he asked the sequrity guard to accompany him to save Ayu’s home. Sequrity guard ensures that the story from Mr.Bokir about Sundelbolong.When they are dinner, Sundelbolong comes and put their food with maggots.

In the Morning, Mr.Tomo comes into the house to inform Ayu about Mr.Ardan and Karsiman’s corpse had been found. According Mr.tomo, this is unnatural death because they were killed by Minanti. Ayu also tells him that find a women like her in the house.Anton visits Pak Raden, then Mr.Raden tells that Ayu’s face is same with his wife. She is minanti. He tells about the night when Ayu borns. At that night Minanti gets black magic. So Minanti has a baby of her back and .Minanti died that night. Mr.Raden lefts the baby to an orphanage and intends to take a revenge for the death of Minanti.

The Concubine of Mr.Raden is Roro Kumilah. She comes to Ki Brojo with Ardan and Kasiman. She asks Ki Brojo to kill baby with black magic but Ki Brojo rejects it. But finally Ki Brojo accepts and gives an appeal. When Ki Brojo and Roro Kumilah are in the room, Mr.Raden Aryo Tejo knows it. Then, he shoots them, and they die. Mr. Raden dumps their body in the lake.Ardan and Kasiman knows it, but they keep it a secret. After know that story from Sundel Bolong, Ayu knows that her mom is Minanti and her father is Mr.RadenAryoTejo. Ayu comes to her father. And Mr.Raden deaths because old age and illness. Finally, Ayu happy with Anton.

At that meeting, Mr Aji asks his student to come forward in front of the class. They must tell the movie with their group. the rule is there are 2 student in front of the class, one of them must tell the story in Indonesian, and another student must translate in English without a text. After that, the student that have translated, must tell the next story in Indonesian, and another student must translate it in English without text too. It will do until all groups have come forward.

Mr Aji divides the students become two sections. They are Left Group and Right Group. One by one groups have been come forward. And then Mr.Aji said R2, whoooaaa and it is Feby and Endah.. Endah as the 1st reader, read this story in Indonesian and Feby translate it without a text

After that Feby read the next story and Endah translate it in English

“Ayu sees the blood and it disappears soon”,

All of student have been come forward, but the story doesn’t end. Mr. Aji ask to his student to continue the story. He asks some groups to read the story in Indonesian and another group must translate it. It is continued until time is up. Then, he gives two tasks to the student. They are :

Make a interview with a foreigner and ask about the comparison of ICT in Indonesia and another country. After that the foreigner must read the synopsis of Malam Jumat Kliwon that have been made and comment it
Make a synopsis of Malam Satu Suro

At September, 17th the class is free, but Feby and Endah do their task about curriculum vitae & resume, and this is their task...

The differences between CV and resumes are the length, the purpose and the layout. A resume is a brief summary of your skills and experience over one or two pages, a CV is more detailed and can stretch well beyond two pages. The resume will be tailored to each position whereas the CV will stay put and any changes will be in the cover letter.

A CV has a clear chronological order listing the whole career of the individual whereas a resume’s information can be shuffled around to best suit the applicant. I would say the main difference between a resume and a CV is that a CV is intended to be a full record of your career history and a resume is a brief, targeted list of skills and achievements.

Hiiii, On September 10th , it is the 4th class in Advanced English Engineering. At that class, Mr.Aji explains about Prepating and Writing a Resume. There are two types of resume. They are British Style that we call Curriculum Vitae and American Style that we call Resume. Resume should be updated / amended before each application. It is for looking a job. At that class, I see Feby and Endah sit at the 2nd banch. They look like give more attention at this topic. Now, lets explain about each style.

1. British Style (Curriculum Vitae)
In this style contains 7 section, there are:
a) Personal information : It is about your name, address, mobile, email, etc.
b) Objective/Profile : It is about what position do you want (Optional)
c) Education and qualifications : It is about your education background
d) Work experience : It is about what your work before making this application
e) Skills : It is about your ability
f) Interests : It is about your hobby in a community or a group
g) References : It is about the person who will give information about you

2. American Style (Resume)
In this style contains 6 section, there are:
a) Personal information : It is about your name, address, mobile, email, etc.
b) Objective/Profile : It is about what position do you want. In this style, you must mention it
c) Education and qualifications : It is about your education background
d) Work experience : It is about what your work before making this application
e) Skills : It is about your ability
f) Interests : It is about your hobby in a community or a group

When Mr. Aji explains about it, he asks us to write an example of curriculum vitae. And at the end of his class, he gives us tasks, they are :

Report 3rd Meeting Advanced English Engineering

Hii..... On September 3rd 2014, it is a 3rd class in Advanced English Engineering, and we meet Mr. Aji again :D. In the 2nd class, Mr. Aji ask to his student to write a synopsis of The Lion King. Feby and Endah who are in the same group do their task together. Feby writes the synopsis start from the beginning until the middle, and Endah writes the synopsis start from the middle until the end of the movie. After they finish the story, they merge their story and the synopsis is done.

This is the synopsis that have been made by Feby.

Once upon the time, the lion that is brave and wise live in the Pride Lands of Africa. His name is Mufasa. Mufasa is a king and has a queen, Her name is Sarabi. They have a son. The name is Simba. Simba has been crowned as the next king when he was young by Rafiki, but Mufasa’s younger brother, Scar envy with Simba’s position. He wants to be a king, so He didn’t attend at the presentation of Simba. Mufasa visits Scar to ask it why, then Scar just say that it slipped his mind.

Simba grows well. On a sunny morning, Mufasa and Simba walk together. Mufasa tells Simba how to be a good king. They meet a hornbill, Zazu. Zazu said that hyenas are in the pride lands. Then Mufasa asks Zazu to go home with Simba. At home, Simba meets Scar and tells that he will be a king. Scar’s so envy, so he tells Simba that there is elepant graveyard that forbidden to visit.

After then, Simba goes to meet Nala his best friend , Nala’s mother and his mother. Simba asks Nala to go there. And then, they ask their mother to go, and they allow them to go with Zazu. But Simba and Nala fell down to elephant graveyard and meet Hyenas. They chase Simba and Nala, but Mufasa come to save them. After He makes hyenas go, he ask Simba and Nala to go home. Mufasa gets to teach his son. He said that he is very disappointed with Simba because he has disobeyed him and put Nala in danger, and Simba said that he wants to be brave like his father.

At that night, Scar visits hyenas. He ask them to kill Mufasa. The next day, Scar makes Simba as bait to kill Mufasa. He asks Simba to wait Mufasa because he has a surprise. Then Scar leaves Simba and go to give a signal to Hyenas. After then, there are many wildebeest run away to Simba, and Simba is surprised and he runs soon. Mufasa who knows the incident go to save Simba.

After he saves Simba, he falls down, then he tries to climb the gorge. He sees Scar and ask to help him. But Scar throws him back into the stampede. Simba that knows his father fall down, he tries to find Mufasa. After Simba finds mufasa, he screams to get some help, but no body hear. A few moment later Scar comes to Simba and Mufasa. He said to Simba that he must go because of him, Mufasa dead. Then Simba follows Scar to leave, then he runaway and meet hyenas. Hyenas chase simba but simba escapes.

And this is the synopsis that have been made by Endah,

Scar announces to other lions that Mufasa and Simba were killed, so he assumes that he is a new king and Hyenas allow live together with lion. After runaway, Simba collapses because he is tired in a desert then Timon and Pumbaa find him. They save Simba. After Simba wakes up, they give Simba a new lesson. It is ‘Hakuna Matata’, he said that it is a wonderfull phrase, they explain that it means NO WORRIES.

When Simba has grown into an adult, he meets Nala. Nala wants to catch Timon and Pumbaa. She tells him that Scar has turned the Pride Lands into a barren wasteland. She asks Simba to return and take his place as king but Simba refuses. Simba shows Nala around his home and the two begin to fall in love. Rafiki arrives and persuades Simba to return to the Pride Lands.

Simba finally arrives in the Pride Lands that is dark and barren. He sees the Pride Land with Nala, Timon, and Pumbaa. When he arrived, he see the kingdom of being destroyed because of Scar,then he goes to find Scar. Finally he finds Scar with his mother. He sees his mother has been attacked by Scar. He is angry and come to his mother. His mother is so surprised because her son still alive. Simba and the other lions is fighting against Scar and Hyena. Then, Scar said that he causes Mufasa killed. Simba is very angry and he fights with Scar. Scar is lose and fall down. Scar is attacked by Hyenas and die. Finally Simba became a new king and happy with his wife, Nala

At that meeting, Mr Aji asks his student to come forward in front of the class. They must tell the movie with their group. the rule is there are 2 student in front of the class, one of them must tell the story in English, and another student must translate in Indonesian. After that, the student that have told in Indonesian, must tell the next story in English, and another student must translate it. It will do until the story is ended.

Mr Aji gives some clue, and the story has been begun. One by one groups have been come forward. And then he said that the student who wear a brown shoes must come forward, whoooaaa and it is Feby and Endah. They wear a brown shoes. Endah as the 1st reader, read this story “The next day, Scar makes Simba as bait to kill Mufasa “, and the Feby translates it. After that Feby read the next story “The next day, Scar makes Simba as bait to kill Mufasa. He asks Simba to wait Mufasa because he has a surprise and then Scar leaves Simba and go to give a signal to Hyenas”, and Endah translates it.

All of student have been come forward, but the story doesn’t end.Mr. Aji asks to his student to continue the story start from the student that sit in the 1st bench, and that will be continued by the student that sit in the back , and back to front again and so on. Feby comes forward again with endah . the 1st reader is Feby. She reads “Finally he finds Scar with his mother. He sees his mother has been attacked by Scar” and endah translates it, then endah reads “He is angry and come to his mother” and feby translates it. It is continued until the story end.

Mr. Aji said that our class have read and translated well. Then, he gives a task again to the student. He asks to make a summary from movie, it is Malam Jumat Kliwon, but it is for two weeks later. The summary must make in detail summary and short summary. And it must make in Indonesian and English. He ask that the summary of The Lion King must upload in a blog. Report 2nd Meeting Advanced English Engineering

On 27th Agustus 2014, This is the second class of Advanced English Engineering. The lecturer is Mr. Aji Prasetya Wibawa. He introduces him self. In that introduction, there is a something that I remember. He said that he is a narrator of puppet. It’s a big WAW :D hehe.

After introducing, he starts to give some motivation to his student. There are around 38 student in the class. I see one of the student who sits in the corner , on the 3rd bench. She is Feby Fadillah. She sits besides Afina. She looks sleepy when Mr. Aji give some motivation. She tells to Afina that she’s so sleepy. But after a few minutes a ago, Mr. Aji ask to his student to go to mosque because it’s time to pray. And then Feby goes to mosque with her friends.

After the students and Mr. Aji come back to the class, Mr Aji tells about what will we do in this semester, and Feby looks not sleepy again. She gives more attention and writes what Mr. Aji says. This is what she writes about the activity in this semester :

Mr. Aji explains the activity one by one. After that, Mr Aji ask to the student to make a group. The groups are made base of their birthday date. Each group contain with two student and one of student must have odd birthday date and the other have even birthday date. Feby with Endah are in the same group. They became a group because Feby’s birthday date is 14th and Endah’s birthday date is 31. After making groups, Mr. Aji gives a task to make summary of a movie. It is The Lion King. And at 01.20 pm Mr. Aji closes the lesson.
